With news that proposed changes to the Energy Performance in Buildings (EPB) Regulations (EPB) have been delayed 'indefinitely', Andrew Morphet, Managing Director of Synergy Property Services comments; “These proposed changes were to be an important step in the energy and climate change strategy of the UK: Not least, they would help achieve our legally binding Green Deal commitment to meet pre-determined carbon emission targets. At present, we are falling behind with the programme to become a low-carbon economy; this means more will need to be done, at a greater pace and a greater cost, as the deadline draws closer.

Enforcement of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD).
Those involved in the work needed under the Energy Performance in Buildings Regulations, such as Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), and Display Energy Certificates (DECs), are concerned that the Regulations are being ignored.
As it is the role of Trading Standards Departments to ensure the Legislation is being adhered to Andrew Morphet, Managing Director of Synergy Property Services Ltd reflects upon how effective they are.
