Do I still need a Home Information Pack?

The requirement to have a Home Information Pack when selling a home was suspended on the 21st May 2010, pending the repeal of the Housing Act 2006.

It is still however necessary to obtain an Energy Performance Certificate. This must be ordered and paid for BEFORE the property can be marketed. Your Estate Agent will offer to arrange this for you but it will often be quicker and cheaper for you to obtain one yourself from Synergy Property Services Ltd.

Domestic Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)

A Domestic EPC provides an energy rating for a building which details both the current and potential energy performance of the building and its services. The energy rating given on the EPC reflects the intrinsic energy performance standard of the building on a simple scale that can then be used to make comparisons with other properties.

Our Domestic EPCs always include recommendations on how the energy performance of your building could be enhanced and how CO2 emissions could be reduced; this includes an indication of the payback period on all recommended works.
